About the Team

The ZF Gainesville Quality Engineering Team comprises 15 engineers who provide support across multiple production lines, including rail gearboxes, transmissions, and steering and suspension components. The Customer Quality Engineer is responsible for warranty handling, root cause identification, product support, and elimination of defect in the process.

What you can look forward to as a Customer Quality Engineer

  • First point of contact within Business Unit IA (Off-Highway Systems) for OEMs in North America with 0-miles and field issues.
  • Liaison among OEMs in North America, Business Unit IA North America, Aftermarket Division, and IAQ (Quality Off-Highway Systems) in Passau. 
  • Record all technical, warranty-related information from the field and manage the subsequent inspection of defective units and defective parts as well as issue the corresponding failure reports. 
  • Arrange and monitor warranty repairs.
  • Support claim settlement and claim decision (according to given standards).
  • Set up & strengthen the relationship with OEMs’ quality / service departments. 
  • Initiate Early Warning Reports (EWR). Organize and manage the assignment of inspectors to investigate / eliminate failures. If required, make proposals and review the effects of the assignment under technical / financial aspects.
  • Manage field campaigns and inspection of defective parts.

Your profile as a Customer Quality Engineer

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering.
  • 2+ years of experience as a service engineer (preferably) or as an application / product engineer within a powertrain and / or OEM in the Off-Highway or any adjacent industries.
  • Familiar with process related projects.
  • Strong team player.
  • Ability to interface with cross-functional teams and all levels of personnel / management.
