Masterthesis GPU Computing - Cuda optimization of grid algorithms

We are looking for a new colleague in the Perception department at our location in Friedrichshafen


Your tasks:

  • The aim of the thesis is a cuda optimization of grid algorithms for freespace extraction
  • Optimize base algorithms of grid mapping on GPU using lidar or radar data
  • Parallelize bayesian or evidence theory (Dempster-Shafer) based occupancy grid maps on GPU
  • Optimize extraction of freespace or static features from GPU grid map
  • Run and benchmark your algorithms on ZF-ProAI platform with NVIDIA Xavier SoC using real measurements of a test vehicle


Your profile:

  • Master student (m/f/d) in Computer Science, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, Neuro Science, Software Engineering or similar specialization
  • Knowledge in GPU architecture and programming, Parallelization of algorithms
  • Very good knowledge in C/C++ and Cuda mandatory, ROS, OpenCV and Eigen recommended
  • Self-dependent working, abstract thinking, analytical skills, team spirit and problem-solving skills
  • Very good English skills
