This position will assist and support Assembly Operations at our Fenton, MI, Manufacturing Brake Facility.  This position will have direct responsibility for managing Maintenance Technicians.  This position reports directly to the Engineering Manufacturing Manager.

 

Job Description

  • Identify productivity improvement opportunities.
  • Identify profit and machine utilization opportunities.
  • Identify, create & support project documentation including, but not limited to HMI, PLC programming, power distribution, control/signal wiring, wireless technology, cabinet/panel design, BOM and layout drawings.
  • Participate with and support engineering and manufacturing teams with technical expertise needed to resolve issues impacting our ability to provide a top-quality product in the most cost-effective manner.
  • Help launch new products and supervise installation of new tooling.
  • Improve OEE by reducing faults, reducing scrap and improving first run yield.
  • Generates process flow, routings, tool estimates and capital estimates for new products.
  • Performs process failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA).
  • Performs capability analysis and R&R studies on existing and new equipment.
  • Provides layout for equipment and modifies layout as necessary.
  • Support machine runoffs.  May require some travel.
  • Communication with internal and/or external customers.

 

Position Skills & Requirements 

  • Minimum of one to three years’ experience in manufacturing. 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
  • Team oriented. Strong interpersonal & leadership skills.
  • Communication skills, written and verbal.
  • Knowledge of fluid mechanics and hydraulics.
  • Ability to work in a multi-task environment.
  • Problem solving ability and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to remain flexible with job responsibilities.
  • Ability to work closely with various members of the organization.
  • Knowledge and use of computers and ability to learn computer software.
  • Knowledge of CAD software is a plus.
