Senior Systems Engineer

The System Project Lead (SPL) is the technical lead and decision maker within the project responsible for the System Engineering planning, execution and delivery including all relevant work packages such as System Architecture, System Specification, regulatory type approvals, etc.  He/she is the overall project responsible for Requirements Engineering from initial gathering through final approval including assurance of traceability through test cases and test results. He/She is responsible to ensure Functional Safety compliance in the project.

 

Tasks:

  • Act as liaison between one or more project teams and the Systems discipline
  • Plan and maintain a phased project schedule for Systems work products, such as System Requirements, System Architecture, System FMEA/FTA, etc.
  • Ensure cross-discipline alignment of system artifact content and technical maturity according to project schedule and Design Content Roll Out Plan
  • Support negotiation of customer requirements, deviations, and other tasks related to tracking of project functional scope.

 

Qualifications

  • University degree in a technical discipline
  • A track record of past successful requirement and/or technical skills in a regulated industry (automotive, aerospace, etc.)
  • Advanced knowledge of UML/SysML modeling principles and architectural concepts
  • Advanced knowledge of DOORS or other requirement capture tools, including adding and modifying objects, linking, filtering, etc.
  • Good self-management and organizational skills; able to work with minimal guidance and lead small teams
  • Demonstrably excellent technical skill in multiple technical disciplines (e.g. Software, Hardware, Optics, etc.)
  • Excellent communication skills in English language
