Senior Field Sales Rep

Position Title:            Senior Field Sales Rep.

 

Department:              Sales

 

Reports to:                 Division Sales and Marketing Manager

 

 

  1. POSITION SUMMARY:

 

Responsible for growing the independent aftermarket business. Responsivities include field work, installer calls, warranties form DCs, and store visits. This position will report progress to support business unit reporting and provide market intelligence on ongoing basis

 

  1. KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND EXPERIENCE:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree. Master Preferred
  • 8 to 10 years of sales and automotive industry experience
  • Knowledge of braking, steering and suspension system desired
  • Proven track record of managing major aftermarket accounts
  • Ability to set and achieve demanding sales and customer service targets
  • Capability to communicate and negotiate at all levels of an organization both internally and externally
  • Self-motivated individual, capable of working and delivering destined objectives with minimal supervision.
  • Required to understand technical features for each product category
  • Effective verbal/written communication skills
  • Proficient computer skills
  • Excellent Technical /functional knowledge of ZF products
  • Experience with SAP and/or related ERP system
  • Effective negotiating skills/ leadership ability
  • Familiarity with IATF preferred
  • Six Sigma Greenbelt training/awareness preferred

 

  1. DESCRIPTION OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Manage sales / margin performance by customer
  • Grow independent aftermarket business
  • Service as technical and warranty resource within specified market area.
  • Enhance profitability through selective past model parts re-pricing.
  • Identify and pursue all-makes, second-line and reman opportunities.
  • Develop, measure and manage business plan.
  • Direct Account Representative(s) by defining day-to-day responsibilities and long-term objectives.
  • Manager responsible for leading, directing, and monitoring the sales promotional activities and personnel performance for sales department.
  • Manages overall internal and external activities related to the management of account(s) or region(s).
  • Drives implementation and continuous improvement of sales strategies, identifies new opportunities, and serves as managerial liaison between other department managers.
  • Under minimal supervision, responsible to establish sales forecasts, evaluate competition, develop pricing strategy, and evaluate market share/growth. 
  • Manager is responsible for identifying training and resources needed for the department. Responsible for managing staff, assigning responsibilities, and reviewing performance.
  • Provides input to senior management for continuous improvement programs and business unit directives.
