About the Position

The Quality Engineer will mainly support Customer Facing quality globally from Global Electronics (GE) headquarter Farmington Hills, and interface with engineering, program management, SDE to provide strong quality support to local customer quality team for problem solving and quality improvement. Support new product development by APQP establishment, monitor the DV/PV performance and safe launch activity to make sure successful launch. Identify the quality improvement opportunity by collecting and reviewing quality performance report and lessons learned to support the QIP activity as GE Quality function. 


What you can look forward to as Quality Engineer: 

  • Providing global quality support from GE headquarters, delivering problem solving guidance to customer quality teams and manufacturing plants. 
  • Partnering with engineering and program management on design related quality tasks, including FMEA, DV/PV, and gate reviews, to ensure robust development quality. 
  • Leading safe launch planning, APQP management (A3–A8), and creation of quality plans while coordinating cross functional execution. 
  • Driving and supporting quality investigations, managing customer/supplier interfaces, and coordinating 8D corrective and preventive actions. 
  • Strengthening collaboration across engineering, SDE/SQA, and plant teams by sharing lessons learned, supporting PPAC root cause analysis, and ensuring feedback loops for prevention. 
  • Monitoring A SPICE progress to ensure software quality validation, evaluating customer quality metrics and QIP reports, and identifying continuous improvement opportunities. 
  • Maintaining and improving quality system procedures, conducting customer satisfaction visits and warranty reviews, and overseeing the product warranty feedback process. 
  • Promoting ZF’s commitment to quality through continuous improvement, investigation of new inspection/test methods, and execution of additional duties as needed.

 

Your Profile as Quality Engineer:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering or a related technical field 
  • 5+ years of experience Customer facing roles delivering automotive electronics solutions 
  • Proven capability to identify issues, analyze root causes, and recommend solutions aligned with organizational standards, practices, policies, and procedures
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with cross functional teams at all organizational levels 
  • Proficiency in basic metrology, standard inspection methods and blueprint reading
  • Knowledge of SQCN system, basic safety practices, and automotive quality standards (TS/IATF, APQP, SPC techniques) 
  • Ability to understand customer-specific quality requirements and produce technical reports, including procedures, inspection instructions, logs, and PPM reports
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools including Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint, and Power BI.
