This position is responsible for leading all engineering development activities for a front camera module within the ZF ADAS organization.  The front camera module is responsible for providing Level 2 ADAS functionality including Automatic Emergency Braking and others.  
 
Responsibilities:
 

  • Manage a global cross functional team of direct and matrixed engineering staff, ensuring the quality of development work products/engineering analyses and customer deliverables to milestones are achieved.  
  • Ensure the technical development adheres to the ZF development process and milestone gate reviews.
  • Primary customer technical project interface and single point of contact internally for all Engineering development status updates to management.
  • Technical schedule development planning and adherence to plan from Concept, Design, Production validation thru Start of Production.
  • Lead and resolve internal cross functional support challenges to ensure alignment with development milestones and avoidance of further management escalation.
  • Provide technical guidance to the team as necessary for problem resolution, to ensure correct actions are being taken in a timely manner to resolve design, validation and/or customer return failure analysis.
  • Support Sales during new business acquisition activities developing the BOM, ED&D estimates and generating quote technical guidance summary for the cross functional organization to assist in their inputs to the business case.
  • As a key member of the ADAS management team, foster ADAS’ growth by supporting cross-team alignment in resource planning/budgeting, utilization, best practices, and lessons learned. 

 

Requirements:

  • BS or MS in Electrical Engineering (preferred) or Computer Science (with Electrical hardware knowledge)
  • 8+ years of directly related automotive engineering expereince 
  • Ability/experience preparing data driven presentations in a simplified/visual manner, ensuring management or customer understanding of complex technical issues.
  • Highly organized, excellent verbal communication skills with a demonstrated history of attention to details.
  • Experience leading a team of direct report technical personnel through an automotive tier 1 electrical ECU development cycle is preferred.
  • Strong problem solving skills with demonstrated history of resolving complex hardware/software intermittent failures is preferred.
  • Experience negotiating with customer engineering staff to ensure requests are reasonable and mutually acceptable.
  • Strong understanding of the development ‘V’ cycle
