As the Principal Thermal Engineer for ADAS, you will lead the thermal analysis of ZF ADAS electronics products, including front and surround-view cameras.  These cameras support many ADAS features, including Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB), Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), and Lane Keeping Assist (LKA), along with other functions such as Traffic Sign Recognition (TSR), Park Assist, Surround View and E-Mirror.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Perform thermal simulations for ADAS product portfolio
  • Report simulation results and provide detailed analysis
  • Coordinate and schedule thermal simulation work with internal stakeholders, as well as external contractors
  • Lead thermal analysis discussions with internal/external customers
  • Serve as subject matter expert to assess thermal topics for not only core ADAS developments, but for current production products and new concepts
  • Work closely with Mechanical engineering, Electrical engineering, and Optics teams to gather appropriate inputs for simulation boundary conditions
  • Support engineering teams for correlation of simulation results to actual vehicle test results
  • Suggest improvements for efficiency in thermal engineering as it relates to ADAS products

 

Qualifications:

  • 8+ Years of experience with Siemens FloTHERM XT (or EFD) and Ansys Icepak for electronic assemblies required
  • Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Experience with thermal analysis of steady-state and transient environments preferred
  • Experience with CAD design/data simplification (Catia V5, etc) preferred 
  • Experience with testing of electronic assemblies preferred
  • Experience with Automotive electronics preferred
