Position Summary: The responsibilities for an Engineer in ZF’s Global Electronics Engineering – Semiconductor Core Development team include the development and integration of Application Specific Integrated Circuits (ASIC), standard ICs, Application Specific Standard Products (ASSP), and RF mmWave ICs into ADAS Radar and Camera products.
Position Responsibilities:
- Work with suppliers during the development of ASIC, ASSP (mixed signal and RF Radar) devices and being the technical expert to the internal teams on the device circuit blocks.
- Architectural development and lead for device specification construction and reviews with the different technical teams.
- Establish and maintain requirement management and traceability system through the ASIC/ASSP/MMIC development process.
- Support functional and safety verification including developing test requirements, testing and test oversight.
- Analyze test data results to ensure ASIC/ASSP/MMIC devices meet system and specification requirements.
- Develop RF Radar MMIC device tests to evaluate parametric performance of devices and assess system level impacts
- Interact heavily with semiconductor supplier design, testing and safety organizations to guide, review, and align design implementation activities, perform safety analysis, confirm specification compliance.
- Support and resolve issues with product line and supplier including device returns analysis, failure reproduction, solution verification.
- Develop user requirement documentation and analysis for ASIC/ASSP/MMIC devices.
- Assess supplier roadmaps and evaluate supplier devices for use in ZF systems.
Qualifcations:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering required. Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering preferred.
- 8 + years of mixed signal IC development/design and/or automotive electronic design experience; experience with automotive ASIC, ASSP, Standard IC or FPGA design development preferred.
- RF Radar mmWave IC design experience
- EMC/EMI technical knowledge and approaches to meeting automotive requirements.
- Strong laboratory skills with experience interfacing to embedded systems.
- Experience with validation of analog and digital circuits/systems.
- Experience with testing RF Radar MMIC circuits.
- Knowledge on automotive safety methods (FMEDA, DFMEA, FTA) and familiarity with functional safety standard ISO 26262 highly preferred.
- Familiarity with semiconductor industry trends and best practices (continuous improvement, zero defect, quality processes, AEC-Q100, state of the art testing and manufacturing, etc.).
- Knowledge of software, algorithm used in ADAS systems desired
