PCB Design Team Supervisor

ZF Global Electronics Engineering Services is seeking a PCB Design Team Lead/Supv. He/She is a hands-on leader responsible for all aspects of leading ZF’s Electrical CAD team (PCB Designers and Librarians) including technical, resource & process management across our global organization. This position requires tight collaboration with a cross functional team of Electrical, Mechanical, Component, Manufacturing Engineers and Project/ Program Managers.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage requests, resource assignments and workload balancing for electrical design services from internal customers (i.e., Program Manager, Hardware Engineering)
  • Mentor individuals on the team and manage expectations/ deliverables with cross-functional stakeholders
  • Drive recruitment, interview, selection and hiring process of PCB Designers and ECAD Librarians supporting the organization’s rapid growth
  • Support onboarding of new hires, career development & growth opportunities
  • Manage electrical design processes through continuous improvement, and training
  • Develop & maintain electrical design/ ECAD standards and procedures
  • Communicate and review job performance expectations of direct reports
  • Support Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and manufacturing related issues resolution
  • Work closely with Hardware Engineers and Configuration/ Change Managers to release fabrication and assembly packages in our company-wide Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) environment

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
  • 6+ years of PCB design experience using PCB Design (ECAD) authoring tools
  • Lead or management experience with small teams in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of multilayer PCB layout, fabrication and assembly techniques including blind/buried vias, and microvias
  • Experience with Rigid, Flex, and Rigid-Flex boards design and manufacturing
  • Proven problem-solving capabilities (i.e., Six Sigma Green Belt)
  • Proficient with Microsoft products (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.)
  • Experience with PDM/ PLM systems such as Windchill , SAP

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 10+ years’ experience of PCB layout design using Mentor Graphics Expedition
  • Proven track record to design & manage all aspects of the PCB design
  • Experience with PCB thermal management
  • Understanding of PCB manufacturing process
  • Experience with PCB product data management in PTC Windchill PLM
