Engineer III- Validation Project Lead

 

Job Description:

  • Track and align Validation activities within the project (equipment readiness, Test preparation, Test execution, Test Results analysis, Test reporting, risk, issue....)
  • Create and maintain overall Test schedule and overall Test strategy (understand each milestone) (e.g., Master Test Plan across all domains)
  • Validation Project Lead should monitor SYS.4 and SYS.5 (System Integration and System qualification Test activities) with master test plan.
  • Validation Project Lead will be single point contact for all test activities within a project and coordinating with domain leads
  • Review and release test reports including recommendation as input for engineering release approvals and C40 milestones within a project
  • Creation of System Verification Plan and ensure subsystem teams are following defined ZF processes and plan
  • Lead Environmental and EMC test activities with Test and Validation department
  • Track test progress as related to requirement releases for each validation domain (SYS.4, SYS.5)
  • Share and report test status to Engineering Project Lead and Management
  • Conduct regular meetings with each domain and track activities and issues
  • Escalate potential issues and risks to EPL and Management
  • Ensure ALMs open points are created for failures across test domains

Create and maintain:

  • Overall Validation Strategy
  • Overall Schedule (Master Test Plan, Master Test Schedule)
  • Collect Status report from all test domains 
  • Open/Action item list for Hardware Concept Validation, Design Validation, & Product Validation, System integration and System Validation
  • Ensure that design meets electronic design requirements and that design guidelines are fulfilled
  • Interface with cross-functional groups, including Hardware, Software, Mechanical, Optics, and Manufacturing to plan and co-ordinate validation deliverables

Required Qualification:

  • The project managing roles must have background on project management practices and experiences.
  • Good understanding of ASPICE Process
  • Knowledge of control unit-hardware / software and their interfaces (e.g., real time systems, bus systems, diagnosis protocols, ...)
  • Knowledge of CAN (Control Area Network) vehicle network protocol
  • Knowledge of lab equipment (Multimeters, oscilloscope, use of automated test racks (e.g., Environmental test rack, HIL bench, vehicle test tools)
  • Knowledge of ECU(Hardware) validation and qualification tests (e.g., Design Validation, Product validation and good understanding of test performed during this phase)
  • Required 5+ years of experience that includes 2+ years of Test Engineering experience (running environmental, mechanical, EMI/EMC Testing or System Validation /vehicle validation on automotive components and providing results for analysis along with report creation for ZF internal purposes and customer submission)
  • Bachelors or Master’s degree preferred in Engineering (Electronics, electrical, software or similar discipline).
