Director, Engineering (ADAS)

This role oversees the ADAS Software Engineering team with 7 globally distributed locations.  Major responsibilities include the strategic development of the SW organization, the insurance of proper skill set and competency development as well as the flawless execution of core and application engineering projects across the entire ADAS product portfolio (high performance ECUs, smart cameras, and radars sensors) in close coordination with the customer/products groups and further cross functional teams within in the ZF group. 


Additional Responsibilities

  • Global budget and capex planning, resource allocation, hiring and training.
  • Continuous improvement and deployment of the SW development processes to meet A-SPICE, ISO26262 and ZF internal processes compliances.
  • Interface and coordinate with the global SW locations to ensure compliance to common processes and strategies
  • Execution and monitoring:
  • Plan, manage and drive timely quality deliveries of work-products
  • Support SW architecture and projects reviews findings resolutions and implementation
  • Interface to ZF internal and external customers as needed
  • Manage SW issue/risk/change management
  • Mechanical and electrical verification planning and execution:
  • Define, plan and ensure on time execution of hardware testing in accord with overall project test strategy reviewing results and driving corrective actions following the defined configuration management process.
  • Built-up of a software team in Monterrey/Mexico
  • Drive introduction, training and roll-out of state-of-the art SW development technologies and processes across the global organization in close cooperation with the centralized ZF SW group


Qualifications

  • Successfully completed B.SC. degree in SW engineering, preferably M.Sc. degree.
  • 20 years' experience in the industrialization of safety relevant automotive products
  • Ability to understand and communicate customer requirements
  • Strong experience and understanding in the application of today’s SW tools and processes, i.e. cloud based SW development incl. DevOps, object oriented programming, Adaptive ASAR and RTOS
  • Proven leadership and ability to deal with complex problems operating in a global matrix organization across different product groups
  • Good project management and planning skills
  • Excellent English language skills (verbal and written), German skills is a plus
