Position 

As a Lead Quality Engineer, you will set up the engagement model, aligning on support needs, quality expectations, requirements (OEM to ZF Suspension Product Line) and more to anticipate and shape the expectations toward requirements in the carmakers multiple specs and processes.

You will have early and direct access during all phases of the programs among ZF Suspension Organization while also supporting local automotive customers (Tier 1) as needed.

 

Responsabilities: 

  • Communicate regularly with all levels of Central customer quality organization to keep the customer informed of ZF suspension plants quality performance. ZF BSC review and action plans.
  • Collect information about CT(Suspension) quality situation and future customer quality expectations in the North American market using face-to-face meetings with the customer as well as customer quality portals. 
  • Understand and follow customer-specific quality systems and procedures.
  • Prepare transparent status information for Suspension PL quality issues with involved CT/Suspension internal functions. Monthly global report. 
  • Acting as lead customer quality engineer supporting Global launches for CT/Suspension facilities supporting thelocal team during APQP phases. 
  • Lead negotiations internally and externally with OEMs for tracking and executing global product/process changes. 
  • Support for negotiation of customer specific requirements (side letters, customer specific documents).
  • Evaluate Customer Specific Requirements through CUDO ( Customer documents review) cases.
  • Support during the different phases of the project life cycle (acquisition – serial phase). Acquisition: check of customer requirements, negotiations, SOR, ESOW, CSR …
  • Support during the different phases of the project life cycle (acquisition – serial phase). Planning phase: Checks, equipment, instructions, PPAP tasks..
  • Launch: customer process approval, Initial sample release, customer visits, PPAP-status..Core Quality member on assigned programs.
  • Support for global / major processes changes to ensure customer requirements are understood and follow up. 
  • Global quality contact for global affectation like supplier force majeure letters.
  • Coordinate global quality-related topics along CT(Suspension) assembly plants. 

 

Profile:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical/Electrical/Industrial Engineering or related field 
  • 5 + Years of experience in Automotive industry / Customer - Quality 
  • Owner and leadership by managing multidisciplinary (core team, i.e., Engineering, Process, Quality, Sales, etc.)  activities 
  • Strong communication and coordination skills
  • Advance problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong knowledge of quality and/or internal audit processes, including knowledge of process/production control methods (i.e. APQP, PPAP, incoming inspection, etc.)
  • Advanced knowledge of IATF standard / Internal audit certified 
  • Advance knowledge in external process/product audits (OEMs, VAA) 
  • Advanced knowledge of quality core tools.
  • Ability to present, influence and engage personnel and management at multiple levels within internal and external organizations.
  • Able to manage multiple activities in parallel – Multitasking. 
  • Advanced English language competency – both written and oral.
  • Ability/willingness to travel both domestically and internationally (~25%)
  • Strong knowledge of GD&T interpretation.
