Product Handler

Position Summary:  Perform duties to ship and receive finished and purchased goods, and process and maintain related bills, records, receipts, and SAP process transactions. 

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Receive incoming material; including but not limited to packaging, material, purchased components for IMS and Automotive and the deliveries from various carriers or direct shipments.
  • Stage finished products for shipment to customers or stage components/material for cross border delivery. 
  • Process Bill of Lading and air freight bills and verify that pre-paid air freight requests have been approved.
  • Responsible for checking the quantity and quality of items received and verify items received in accordance with the packing slip and sign off on truck bill. 
  • Ensure packing list information is accurate in the SAP including but not limited to vendor, quantity, and cost accuracy. 
  • Enter and ensure receipt transactions are accurate in SAP.
  • Review warehouse inventories and initiate inventory transaction sheets.  Initiate all receipts, issues, and returns to inventory by reporting location, quantity and using department on inventory and control records.
  • Process packing slips, truck bills of lading, purchasing status reports
  • Participate in cycle count process including but not limited to blind counts, root cause analysis and confirming zero quantity locations. 
  • Determine the routing and ensure the delivery of MRO material to internal customers. 
  • Identify returned goods (RGMs), mark with pre-assigned number and deliver to designated processing area.
  • Receive incoming material and process paperwork to indicate receipt and unloading of vehicles with purchased goods.
  • Maintain warehouse housekeeping and follow safe work practices.
  • Communicate appropriate problems to the supervisor of shipping and receiving.  Prepare required reports, investigate short or damaged shipments, and ensure the daily completion of receiving entries.
  • Operate a fork-lift truck, hand trucks, scales, calculator, and data input terminal (for inventory inquiry).
  • Ensure compliance with the ZF Quality Management System requirements (ZF QMS) which includes IATF 16949, ISO 9001 and Customer Specific Requirements (CSR).
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

  • 1-3 years logistics experience
  • Knowledge of use of procedure manual bills of lading, packing slips, truck bills and purchase orders
  • Prior distribution center experience preferred
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Able to manage multiple responsibilities
     

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with SAP or related ERP system a plus
