Mechanical Engineer

       We are looking to hire a Senior Design Engineer to join our team at El Marques -Steering  location

 

Responsibilities.

  • Member of a Product Engineering team who is assigned activities to design and develop Commercial Vehicle steering components.
  • Manage the creation and collaboration of 3D CAD models and engineering drawings to describe the product to manufacturing, quality, and purchasing.
  • Communicate both verbally in written form with customers and suppliers.
  • Perform Engineering calculations as required to ensure a robust product design.
  • Evaluate and recommend Geometric Dimensions and Tolerances (GD&T) for components and assemblies.
  • Develop, revise, and maintain Design Failure Mode Effects and Analysis (DFMEA).
  • Establish Product Engineering Classification of Characteristics based on DFMEA requirements.
  • Develop test specifications, product validation plans, enter test requests, coordinate completion of testing, write engineering reports and communicate results to the organization.
  • Analyze change requests for impact on current product designs.
  • Perform troubleshooting activities to assign quality, manufacturing, and suppliers to resolve product issues.
  • Perform special projects as assigned including maintenance and revision of design standards, work instructions and procedures.
  • Requirements
  •  Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering Technology with emphasis on the design and development of mechanical parts and systems.

 

Requirements

  • 5 Years Minimum Experience in Automotive Industry, Preferable Product Engineering Role
  • A strong background in a 3D CAD software (Creo preferred).
  • A strong practical understanding and application of GD&T.
  • Good verbal and written English communication skills required.
  • Advanced computer skills (Minitab, Matlab, Visual Basic, ANSYS and CAD) preferred.
  • Commitment and Drive for Performance.  Ability to manage a demanding work load and balance multiple projects simultaneously.
