Commercial Warranty Processing Engineer

About the Team:

The Warranty Team plays a vital role in minimizing quality related costs by effectively managing and defending against unjustified warranty claims from the field. We actively support the drafting and negotiation of warranty agreements, forecast and plan expected future warranty expenses, and provide transparent reporting on paid claims.
Through thorough analysis of customer claims and professional negotiations with our customers, we work closely with our engineering colleagues to make a significant and measurable contribution to the company’s overall success.

What you can look forward to as Commercial Warranty Processing Engineer:

• Evaluate and process warranty costs for field complaints across assigned customers and plants within a global product division, with a focus on key and strategic customers. 
• Examine warranty data across multiple periods, assigning debit notes, invoices, and recoveries based on technical analyses, contractual terms, and internal directives using analytical tools and software. 
• Regularly document warranty costs, supplier recoveries, accruals, and forecasts (e.g. monthly) in designated systems, identify commercial deviations and trends, and provide structured input to technical teams to support root cause analysis and timely issue resolution.
• Coordinate and support internal meetings related to warranty cost monitoring and resolution, ensuring alignment across stakeholders. 
• Collaborate cross functionally with development, accounting, controlling, plant quality, suppliers recourse team, and international locations on warranty related matters. 
• Handle disputable, critical, or prioritized warranty cases by collecting relevant information, preparing negotiation strategies, and supporting decision making. 
• Provide support in complex, high severity warranty cases, including data acquisition and preparation, as well as contributing to customer communications and the development of negotiation strategies.
• Within the defined scope of responsibility and decision-making authority, partially negotiate and process warranty costs independently with internal and external customers, potentially on a global level, in close coordination with the manager.
• Support the review, evaluation, and design of warranty contracts and warranty processing procedures. 

Your profile as Commercial Warranty Processing Engineer:

• A degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or a comparable qualification
• Advanced Excel skills are required; experience with MS 365 and SAP is a strong plus
• Openness and curiosity to explore new technologies and modern analytical methods
• A high level of reliability combined with a strong sense of ownership and accountability
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• A structured, detail-oriented, and results-driven working style, along with professional communication skills
• A strong quality mindset and the ability to work effectively in a team
• Fluency in English is required; German and additional languages are an advantage
