Job Description
Main Task: Plan, implement and assess occupational health, safety, & environmental protection programs and processes to support the manufacturing facility.
Expectations:
- Perform risk assessments for site hazards (chemicals, machines, ergonomics, fire safety, confined spaces, non-routine work activities, industrial hygiene, personal protective equipment, etc.) from identifying and evaluating the risks to establishing appropriate control measures, action plans and reviewing effectiveness to ensure safe processes and a safe work environment.
- Participate in change management for new or modified equipment or processes to consider all relevant EHS aspects and avoid additional or new risks
- Conduct regular workplace inspections and document findings.
- Provide safety training where needed.
- Monitor legal changes and advise management on compliance.
- Lead local EHS programs and adapt global campaigns to site needs.
- Manage internal audits and support external audits.
- Track corrective actions from audits.
- Prepare management reviews and set EHS targets.
- Monitor EHS performance and recommend improvements.
- Act as the main contact for EHS issues with authorities, insurers, contractors, and the global EHS team.
- Ensure timely reporting of EHS data.
Responsiblities:
- Advise the site and business managers on EHS objectives, and company, customer, legal and other requirements.
- Support the process of achieving the targets and objectives, and company, legal, customer and other requirements.
- Ensure the site or business identifies and addresses its key priority issues.
- Monitor compliance with legal, company, customer and other requirements.
- Advise on the provision and maintenance of arrangements, systems and procedures.
- Ensure the effective management of resources allocated to achieve EHS objectives.
- Ensure adequate level of competence in the business for the successful achievement of EHS objectives.
- Liaise with:
- External EHS regulatory and enforcement agencies
- Members of the Global EHS Team including relevant EHS Divisional Leads.
- Coordinate the documentation of the EHS programs:
- Develop and maintain the documentation (procedures, work instructions, etc.).
- Ensure that adequate records are kept.
- Monitor and review the effectiveness of site’s or business’s EHS Management System (arrangements, objectives, targets, systems and procedures).
- Report on EHS progress and performance and its impact on the business operation to the management team.
- Ensure the timely submittal of EHS metrics and other reports.
- Monitor and review the effectiveness of sites’ or business’s Energy Management System (arrangements, objectives, targets, systems and procedures).
- Report on Energy progress and performance and its impact on the business operation to the management team
Additional Expectations & Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering "Safety, Environmental Science, or Similiar Degree"
- 3 Years of Health & Safety Field - Experience in Industrial Environments
- Strong Knowledge of Occupational Safety & Health Standards for Industry
- Experience Maintaining Corporate Management Standars as well as Expertise in EHS Management Systems (ISO 14001/OHSAS 18001)
- Strong Written & Oral Communication Skills
- Ability ti Multi - Task & Work Independently with Minimal Supervision
