Within the ZF Aftermarket Division, the Business Line Digital Solutions enables aftermarket customers across application segments (cargo transport, people transport, industrial applications) to radically increase the efficiency, sustainability, and safety of their operations while meeting the regulatory and visibility standards of their markets.

 

As Lead System Architect - Diagnostic Solutions for ZF’s Aftermarket Workshop Digitalization Services you will lead the technical vision, design, and implementation of ZF’s global [pro] Diagnostics platform that integrates multiple diagnostic products for both commercial and passenger vehicles. You will serve as the key technical consultant to the business line, supporting strategic decision-making and working closely with our product teams, partners and customers.

Job Description

Your tasks as Lead System Architect - Diagnostic Solutions
Strategic Architecture Design:
•    Design scalable, future-oriented architectural solutions, concepts and code aligning with the product vision.
•    Enable tailored solutions for e.g., regional product variants and integration with existing ZF systems and enable data analytics capabilities for user and system insights.
Technical Leadership:
•    Lead the technical vision of the ZF [pro] Diagnostics platform and associated product variants.
•    Make and facilitate timely technical decisions, provide mentorship and foster technical excellence within the engineering teams, support building and recruiting the engineering team.
Business and Customer Engagement/Integrations:
•    Consult with service line on strategic decisions.
•    Engage with partners and customers to align platform with market/customer needs.
•    Develop integration plans for additional products and services.
•    Represent company's technical capabilities in client meetings and industry events.
Regulatory Compliance and Data Management:
•    Ensure platform adaptability to evolving vehicle diagnostics and data access regulations.
•    Ensure architecture supports scalability, performance, and security requirements.


Your profile as Lead System Architect - Diagnostic Solutions
•    University degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent
•    Min 5 years of experience in software development and minimum 3 years experience of architectural design
•    Vehicle diagnostics domain knowledge and understanding of vehicle diagnostics standards, awareness of relevant regulatory standards and compliance requirements
•    Passionate about end-user software technology with expertise in multiple programming languages (e.g., Java, C++, Python)
•    In-depth knowledge of software architecture patterns and best practices
•    Strong understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
•    Experience with big data technologies and analytics platforms
•    Familiarity with IoT and connected vehicle technologies
•    Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and practices
•    Understanding of REST APIs and web services
•    Experience with agile development methodologies
•    Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
•    Strong leadership and mentoring abilities
•    Ability to translate complex technical concepts for non-technical audiences
•    Customer-focused mindset
•    Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
•    Thrive in a culture that expects ownership, autonomy, and accountability
•    Fluency in English, additional languages a plus
•    Willingness to travel
