We are currently looking for skilled people that want to have an impact with their work to join a newly formed ZF Aftermarket Product Engineering team in our existing Dublin office. Over the next 12 months, this team will be working to bring a new customer-facing platform from concept to production through a deeply collaborative effort between our engineering, UX, Product and Data members. The team will leverage the company's existing knowledge of both the industry and technologies to create a digital product that will increase the convenience and efficiency of vehicle repair & maintenance of private vehicle owners and fleets. This is a unique opportunity to have an early and significant impact on shaping both the new engineering organization and product while having the security of being part of one of the world's largest automotive suppliers.

About the Lead Software Engineer 
As a Lead Software Engineer, you perfectly understand the business and product strategy and translate it into technical concepts and requirements, choosing the right technologies to ensure efficient, stable, secure, and flexible development. You build a highly skilled and motivated team, establish appropriate processes and infrastructure, and exchange regularly with design, marketing, and leadership.   

Your tasks:

• Understand the product vision and objectives. Together with the product team you translate the vision into actionable topics for your team and encourage the team to achieve that vision
• Design and develop scalable and future-proof solutions together with the product team from proof of concept to production for ZF's digital product catalog
• Build, advance, and retain a highly skilled and motivated engineering team together with your leader and peers in the business line
• Make timely decisions by driving consensus; clearly communicate decision-making rationale -Support with workforce planning and managing cost & budget
• Define technical OKRs for the domain and take responsibility for team result and provide ongoing, actionable, and timely feedback
• Be a go to person, role model and example for other engineers on all levels and share your knowledge and experience in various ways

Your profile:

• Computer Science degree or equivalent
• 8+ years of software development working in an agile environment
• Proven track record of successfully leading project teams and delivering on projects
• A strong passion for and deep understanding of state-of-the-art technologies and development methodologies
• First Leadership-Experience on leading direct reports is a plus
• Strong ability to create clarity and influence stakeholders and peers by example
• Excellent stakeholder managing and communication abilities
• Highly motivated to be a leader and to build high-performing and empowered teams and to achieve deliverables through and with the team
• Proficiency in Node.js and/or Python
