Job Title: Distribution Center Project Manager

Location: Johor Bahru Malaysia Free Trade Zone

Company Overview:  ZF is a dynamic and growing global organization dedicated to excellence in automotive aftermarket sales. With a commitment to innovation and customer satisfaction, we are expanding our operations by establishing a new Distribution Center in the Malaysia Free Trade Zone. To spearhead this strategic initiative, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced DC Project Manager to lead the setup and ensure seamless integration into our supply chain network. Upon project completion, this position holder shall assume the role to run this integrated regional operation center in Johor Bahru Malaysia.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Project Planning and Execution:
    • Develop a comprehensive project plan for the establishment of the new Distribution Center, outlining key milestones, timelines, and resource requirements.
    • Lead cross-functional teams to execute the project plan, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
    • Monitor progress, identify potential risks, and implement corrective actions to ensure project success.
  1. Site Selection and Setup:
    • Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to identify and evaluate potential locations within the Malaysia Free Trade Zone for the Distribution Center.
    • Oversee the setup of the facility, including infrastructure, warehouse layout, and technology implementation.
    • Coordinate with contractors, suppliers, and regulatory authorities to ensure compliance with local regulations and industry standards.
  1. Customs Import/Export Compliance:
    • Possess a deep understanding of customs import and export processes in Malaysia, including knowledge of Free Trade Zone regulations.
    • Work closely with customs authorities to secure necessary permits, licenses, and certifications for efficient cross-border movements.
    • Develop and implement strategies to streamline customs clearance processes, minimizing delays and optimizing supply chain efficiency.
  1. Supply Chain Integration:
    • Collaborate and lead internal teams, including logistics, procurement, and inventory management, to integrate the new Distribution Center seamlessly into the existing supply chain network.
    • Implement best practices for inventory control, order fulfillment, and distribution to maximize operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
  1. Team Leadership and Development:
    • Build and lead a high-performing project team, providing clear direction, support, and motivation.
    • Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment that encourages innovation and continuous improvement.
    • Identify training needs and implement development programs to enhance the skills of the project team.

Qualifications:

  • At least 10 years of working experience in logistics and supply chain operations, preferably in automotive or service parts industry.
  • Proven experience as a Project Manager in the setup of Distribution Centers, preferably in international locations.
  • In-depth knowledge of customs import/export processes in Malaysia, with a focus on Free Trade Zone regulations.
  • Strong project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and deliver results within tight deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with logistics, supply chain, and warehouse management systems.
  • Good understanding of Warehouse Management Systems, ERP such as Navision will be an advantage.
  • Experience in 3rd Party Logistics operations. Able to handle suppliers to resolve issues.
  • Able to converse in English, Mandarin, and Malay.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in project management, with a focus on distribution center setup and international logistics.
