We are looking for a self-motivated and experienced Program and Project Portfolio Manager to join an established team providing global program and project management services to WIO departments. The Portfolio Manager is responsible for ensuring program and project execution in adherence with rules and principles as defined by the central IT PMO. The role requires effective co-ordination of programs and projects and management of their inter-dependencies including oversight of any risks and issues arising.
The portfolio manager ensures programs and projects are resourced sufficiently.


Key Responsibilities:

• Review and understand the complete WIO portfolio of programs and projects
• Collect project requests as part of a demand management process
• Select and prioritise projects that align with strategic objectives
• Resource Management, including:
◦Effective deployment of resources based on technical, financial and human resources aspects
◦Understanding the resource capacities
◦Ensuring resources are maintaining their skill levels
• Identify groupings of projects within WIO and classify them into programs of related projects
• Manage the portfolio pipeline to understand which projects can be executed based on resource and capacity information and project prioritisation
• Identify opportunities for project managers to work on related groups of projects
• Liaise with the Head of WIO Program & Project Management to:
◦Maximize business results through economic assignment of resources
◦Prioritize programs and projects to guide resource assignment
◦Assign resources to programs and projects that will reduce risk and maximize ROI
• Develop program & project classification and prioritization methods inline with IT PMO processes
• Develop capacity & resource management inline with IT PMO process and methodology
• Develop and provide reporting of the WIO Portfolio, including evaluating project progress

Your profile:
• IT degree or comparable and minimum of 5 years of experience within a PPM environment
• Effective leadership, interpersonal, communication, facilitation and presentation skills
• Sound business case development and approvals skills
• Excellent knowledge of program and project management methods, budgeting and resource allocation procedures
• Sufficient seniority and credibility to advise project teams on their projects in relation to programs
• Business acumen and the ability to find ways of solving or pre-empting problems
• Self motivated individual with the ability to work without close supervision
• Excellent written and verbal English Language skills
• Complete familiarity with central IT PMO processes and methodology


• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
• Experience of managing project portfolios for a large global organisation
