About the team:

This position is part of ZF’s ADAS & HPC business, which is entering an exciting new phase of growth and transformation within the advanced automotive technology space. The business unit is planned for divestiture, creating a unique opportunity to help shape the future of next-generation driver assistance and high-performance computing technologies. 

In this role, you will contribute directly to both Product Carbon Footprint (PCF) and Corporate Carbon Footprint (CCF) activities, while working closely with cross-functional and international stakeholders.

What you can look forward as a Sustainability Specialist (f/m/d):

• Calculate PCF for electronics products using ZF and divisional guidelines, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and audit readiness.
• Support Corporate Carbon Footprint (CCF) data collection, validation, and analysis in alignment with group reporting requirements.
• Identify carbon hotspots and support emission reduction initiatives across materials, processes, and supply chain.
• Maintain and further develop carbon data models, dashboards, and reporting outputs for internal and external use.
• Collaborate closely with R&D, supply chain, manufacturing, suppliers, and sustainability colleagues to close data gaps and improve carbon data quality.
• Support customer requests and internal reviews by explaining methodologies, assumptions, and results in a clear and structured way.
• Ensure alignment with global sustainability regulations and frameworks (e.g. GDPEP, EU Green Deal or other regulation–related requirements).

Your profile as a Sustainability Specialist (f/m/d):

• Degree in Engineering, Electronics, Sustainability, Environmental Science, or another technical field.
• 2–5 years of professional experience, preferably in electronics, manufacturing, or a technical sustainability role.
• Practical knowledge of PCF, CCF, LCA, or GHG Protocol; certifications related to sustainability or carbon accounting are a strong plus.
• Experience with/or strong interest in Sphera and Watershed toolsets.
• Strong ability to work with data, perform structured analyses, and ensure high data quality.
• Proven ability to work across functions and explain complex technical topics to diverse stakeholders.
• Detail-oriented, proactive, and motivated to shape the sustainability journey of advanced electronics products.
