Responsibilities

This position is responsible for the Inbound and outbound global logistics and packaging optimization, as well as maintaining complete import/export trade compliance.  

 

    • Prepare annual freight operational planning budget for division (bottoms up from the plant level)
    • Analyze monthly actual freight performance vs operational planning budget for management review
    • Support global and regional tenders for all modes, including ocean, air, land, rail, and parcel
    • Manage and reduce premium freight with cost-effective solutions
    • Coordinate premium freight recovery with sales and finance
    • Determine and implement transportation modes, frequencies, and carriers, including domestic and international shipments
    • Drive continuous improvement for logistics network, including baseline data collection and transport mode & network optimization
    • Implement internal freight auditing to make sure accurate invoice payments
    • Analyze monthly duty reports to enhance customs integrity and compliance
    • Support customs related activities, such as bonded warehouse and escalating operational issues
    • Freight bill Audit process audit & Drive freight optimization (air, ocean, LTL, premium services) across regional sites
    • Complete total landed cost studies and ad-hoc freight analysis
    • Identify and implement packaging cost reduction opportunities with current and new suppliers
    • Works in-sync with Trade Compliance team to ensure conformity with import and export laws in regional countries which the Company operates and ships
    • Monitor and support freight claims for shipment damages/losses and follow through to settlement
    • Ensure all logistics policies, procedures and guidelines are understood and followed across GE facilities.
    • Hold accountable logistics (carriers as well as customs Brokers) providers to deliver KPI metrics

 

Qualifications

 

    • Bachelor of Science Degree in Logistics or Supply Chain Management
    • Proficient in Freight management
    • 10-15 years of experience required
