About the Team: 

This position is part of ZF’s ADAS & HPC business, which is entering an exciting new phase of growth and transformation within the advanced automotive technology space. The business unit is planned for divestiture, creating a unique opportunity to help shape the future of next-generation driver assistance and high-performance computing technologies. 

The Advanced Robotics and Innovation Engineer serves a crucial role in developing ZF’s next generation of edge connected products. In this role, you will have the opportunity to lead and develop new and novel driver assistance products spanning from the low-speed parking domain all the way up to Level 3 hands-free autonomous driving functions. The ideal candidate will possess strong interdisciplinary competencies spanning Computer Science, Applied Mathematics and Controls and Estimation Theories. 

What you can look forward to as an Advanced Robotics and Innovation Engineer (f/m/d):

• A working level knowledge of probabilistic robotics and related concepts. 
• Knowledge of fused perception algorithms (Bayesian Inference, Dempster Schafer, Kalman Filtering, etc.).   
• Knowledge of convex optimization and non-linear optimal control techniques. 
• Prior experience developing safety critical embedded systems. 
• Prior experience developing rapid prototyping applications in a service based framework (e.g. ROS). 

Your profile as an Advanced Robotics and Innovation Engineer (f/m/d):

• Bachelors of Science (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or related field.  
• 4+ years experience developing driver assistance systems or related technologies. 
• High competency in developing modern object oriented C++ applications (C++14 or later). 
• Prior experience working in a modern CI and DevOps software development framework. 
• A general understanding of gitflow software development practices.
• Fluent in English.
