Global Freight & Customs Specialist

Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as a Global Freight & Customs Specialist. This role is pivotal in optimizing our freight management processes, ensuring compliance with customs regulations, and driving cost improvement measures across our global operations.

What you can look forward to as Global Freight & Customs Specialist:

• Collect freight demands per trade line and requirements such as lead times, transit times, quality, and delivery performance;
• Contribute to the conceptual development and design of freight management systems;
• Manage interfaces between divisional freight management and regions/plants;
• Implement the divisional freight network and measure cost and performance target achievements;
• Identify and drive cost improvement measures, such as usage/demand reduction and efficiency/technical optimization;
• Ensure efficient reporting, measure and report the divisional CO2 footprint, and ensure compliance with customs regulations;
• Implement and manage selected Freight Forwarders (FF) and service providers (3PL), and drive supplier development and performance management;
• Review duty spend, define strategies to minimize duty payments, and support sites in compliance with customs regulations and requirements.
   

Your Profile as Global Freight & Customs Specialist:

• Extensive experience in managing and operating freight systems, ensuring efficient logistics processes;
• Advanced Excel skills for data analysis and insightful reporting;
• Excellent command of the English language for effective global communication;
• Proven ability to identify and drive cost improvement measures, including usage/demand reduction and efficiency/technical optimization;
• Initial experience within the customs area, understanding regulations and compliance;
• Familiarity with Power BI and SAP is an asset;
• Strong background in customer service, excelling at building relationships and ensuring satisfaction;
• Capable of handling multiple tasks efficiently in fast-paced environments.
