Sr Engineer - Supplier Quality

ZF is looking for a SR Engineer-Supplier Quality for our location in Chihuahua.

Position Summary: This position is responsible to ensure component’s compliance to requirements during series process. The supplier quality engineer will work across all ZF Passive Safety product lines: inflatable restraint systems (IRS), steering wheel systems (SWS), and seatbelt systems (SBS). This position will be responsible for cost recovery, revalidation, and escalation management, while focusing on Continuous Improvement Activities to improve supplier performance. The supplier quality engineer will be responsible for holding knowledge of ZF supplier management procedures and directives and main interfacing procedures and reporting systems.

Position Responsibilities:

• Communicate with both global and local internal/external stakeholders and suppliers.
• Assist suppliers in systemic problem-solving including root cause analysis through implementation of robust corrective & preventive counter measures and monitoring effectiveness.
• Collect cost recovery related to supplier issues.
• Perform Audits and follow up closure of open issues, if any: At suppliers, with OEMs, or with certification body (IATF). 
• Yearly supplier audit planning (product and process) and maintaining audit repository.
• Track & report Supplier performance on key KPI and monitor progress on improvement activities. 
• Lead Supplier escalation as well as continuous improvement initiatives.
• Interface with Customers on critical supplier issues as necessary.
• Regional and Global travel required.

Essential Skills and Experience:

• Bachelors degree in Engineering.
• 5+ years of relevant experience with Automotive processes at OEM, Tier 1, or Tier 2 supplier.
• Experience with APQP, FMEA, Control plans, and PPAP.
• Experience with GD&T, measurement systems, and statistical basics (SPC, MSA, Capability study, etc.)
• Audit skills and certifications.
• QMS skills.
• Effective Communication, presentation, and strong negotiation skills.
