ZF is looking for a Senior Manager Supply Chain Customs Head of Customs, this position could be located on Chihuahua, La Laguna or Reynosa.

 

Position Summary

Head of Customs Management Global is a strategic leadership role responsible for overseeing all customs-related functions and customs shared services within the organization. This includes customs compliance, tariff classification, customs cost optimization, and the management of customs-related shared services to enhance efficiency and cost-effectiveness.This position can be located at any of the three Division R locations: Chihuahua, LaLaguna or Reynosa, Mexico.

 

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive long-term customs strategy aligned with the Division R business objectives
  • Lead and manage customs global team including customs shared services
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and operational excellence in customs management and customs shared services
  • Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives, identify opportunities to minimize customs costs and fees including negotiating tariff preferences and customs simplifications
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable national and international customs laws, regulations, and trade agreements
  • Monitor changes in customs regulations and adjust company policies accordingly
  • Oversee the customs documentation process, including preparation and monitoring of customs declarations and documents
  • Ensure correct classification and tariffing of goods in accordance with applicable tariff codes
  • Identify and mitigate risks related to customs matters
  • Prepare the company for customs audits and inspections
  • Collaborate closely with customs agents and authorities to ensure smooth import and export transactions
  • Ensure the efficient and timely delivery of customs services to internal clients
  • Collaborate closely with other departments to understand their customs-related needs and expectations
  • Communicate best practices and recommendations to internal stakeholders
  • Responsible for budget planning and cost control related to customs operations

 

Required Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Economy, Business Administration, International Trade or equivalent
  • At least minimum 5 years of professional experience in a comparable position or in consulting
  • Extensive experience in customs management, including leadership roles
  • Deep knowledge of national and international customs laws, regulations, and trade agreements.
  • Strong negotiation skills and the ability to minimize customs costs effectively
  • Distinct analytical thinking and judgement as well as a high degree of result orientation
  • Excellent communication, team development, and stakeholder management skills
  • Travel required internationally as needed
