¡Come and join to the Passive Safety Systems Division as Customs Shared Services Manager at Chihuahua Plant!

 

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive long-term customs strategy aligned with the Division R business objectives.
  • Lead and manage MX customs share services team.
  • To act as an intermediary between the company and the customs authorities in México, been aware of all customs regulations, ensuring compliance with all customs regulations, managing the customs clearance process, maintaining data accuracy, and adhering to legal requirements.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and operational excellence in customs shared services.
  • Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives, identify opportunities to minimize customs costs and fees including negotiating tariff preferences and customs simplifications.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable national and international customs laws, regulations, and trade agreements.
  • Monitor changes in customs regulations and adjust company policies accordingly.
  • Oversee the customs documentation process, including preparation and monitoring of customs declarations and documents.
  • Ensure correct classification and tariffing of goods in accordance with applicable tariff codes.
  • Identify and mitigate risks related to customs matters.
  • Prepare the company for customs audits and inspections.
  • Collaborate closely with customs agents and authorities to ensure smooth import and export transactions.
  • Ensure the efficient and timely delivery of customs services to internal clients.
  • Collaborate closely with other departments to understand their customs-related needs and expectations.
  • Communicate best practices and recommendations to internal stakeholders.
  • Responsible for budget planning and cost control related to customs operations.

 

Required Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Economy, Business Administration, International Trade or equivalent.
  • At least minimum 5 years of professional experience in a comparable position or in consulting.
  • Extensive experience in customs management, including leadership roles.
  • Deep knowledge of national and international customs laws, regulations, and trade agreements.
  • Strong negotiation skills and the ability to minimize customs costs effectively.
  • Distinct analytical thinking and judgement as well as a high degree of result orientation.
  • Excellent communication, team development, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Travel required internationally as needed.
