Job role description

Evaluation of components with defined Parameters and technologies for Various components of Braking Products.
Support in the divisional representation of project interests in order to achieve target costs.
Consulting of the development teams during the concept selection for the purposes of a cost-efficient product design (Design-to-cost, target costing & Benchmarking etc.).
Concept costing estimation in pre-development projects and identification of process alternatives.
Cost side accompaniment with the change management process of the product (focus on component and process).
Cost down ideas evaluation for ideas generated through Design to cost Workshops and other Platforms.

Authorities & responsibilities

Support of Senior Cost Engineers and Product Cost Engineers during the Product Development Process (e.g., Design to Cost, Cost Benchmarks etc.) • Generation of Best-Practice-Product Cost Calculations considering a Total Cost approach • Calculation of the Cost impact associated with technical changes. • Execution of internal and external Manufacturing process validations (Brown-Field examinations) and evaluation of the Cost performance in the sheet metal, Forgings (Hot & Cold), Castings & Electro-Mechanics & Chemicals etc. • Identification of measures for optimization of Cost structures • Collection and documentation of technology-specific master data in collaboration with internal and external partners • Support of the definition and continuous development of group wide Cost Engineering Reference-processes • Support the continuous development of technology-specific tools in Cost Engineering • Team member in international and cross functional projects and steering of subprojects

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical/Production/automotive. with 4 to 7 yrs of relevant experience

Knowledge/Specialization about Manufacturing technologies of Sheetmetal, Forgings (Hot & Cold), Castings & Electro-Mechanics & Chemicals etc. • Understanding of Braking Product

List and level of skills & competencies

Willingness to continuously keep knowledge at a state of the art/best practice level. • Distinct analytical capabilities, solution oriented, accurate and self-dependent way of working. • Supportive, ability to work in teams, strong communication/Networking skills in a local & international context and a high acceptance for travelling in needed
