Job Description

About the Team:
This team is responsible for manufacturing processes by designing, developing and implementing by applying knowledge of product design, Assembly, Machining, fabrication, tooling, and materials.

 

What you can look forward to as Lead Engineer – Electrical Motor design (m/f/d):
•    Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering, Power Electronics, Mechatronics, or related field.
•    5+ years of proven experience in automotive motor design for EV or hybrid platforms.
•    Hands on expertise in: ANSYS Maxwell / JMAG / Motor CAD, MATLAB/Simulink, 2D/3D CAD (Creo/SolidWorks/Catia)
•    Strong understanding of Traction motor thermal management, High-speed rotor dynamics, Electromagnetic material selection, NVH mitigation, Magnet behavior under high load/temperature
•    Familiarity with motor control algorithms (FOC, DTC, sensorless control).
•    Experience with 800V systems, high speed motors (>16,000 rpm), and hairpin winding technology.
•    Experience working with OEMs, Tier 1 suppliers, or EV startups.

 

Your Profile as Lead Engineer – Electrical Motor design (m/f/d):
•    Design and optimize AC/DC motors, including BLDC, PMSM, Induction, and Reluctance Motors for automotive traction and auxiliary applications.
•    Perform detailed electromagnetic analysis using tools such as ANSYS Maxwell, Motor CAD, JMAG, or Flux.
•    Develop 2D/3D designs for stator, rotor, windings, magnets, laminations, and related motor components.
•    Conduct thermal and mechanical stress analysis to support high speed automotive motor design.
•    Interpret simulation results and apply corrective actions to improve:  Efficiency map, Peak & continuous torque capability, NVH behaviour, Thermal stability during real world drive cycles (WLTP, EPA, etc.)
•    Conduct formal design reviews, technical risk assessments, and DFMEA.
•    Collaborate with inverter/control teams, mechanical design, manufacturing, and vehicle integration teams.
•    Drive innovation in motor design to achieve best in class power density and system efficiency.
•    Responsible for PDSS, PDS, Drawings, Test Instruction & DFMEA
•    Prepare technical documentation, design specifications, motor BOMs, and DV/PV validation plans.
