About the Team

The Maintenance Team helps keep production running safely and efficiently by maintaining mechanical, pneumatic, electrical, and hydraulic equipment. With limited supervision, team members diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair machinery while following all applicable safety standards and OSHA guidelines.

What You Can Look Forward to as a Maintenance Technician

  • Improves Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) by escalating equipment and production issues through appropriate channels to support timely resolution and greater efficiency.
  • Prioritizes work effectively, acts with urgency, meets deadlines, and supports operational goals.
  • Takes ownership of maintenance practices and related processes while supporting equipment-availability Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Adjusts priorities and actions as production demands, schedules, and urgent requests change while maintaining operational effectiveness.
  • Completes assigned work on schedule and in line with quality standards and business objectives.
  • Troubleshoots and repairs mechanical, pneumatic, electrical, PLC-related, and hydraulic systems during planned and unplanned downtime to reduce production disruptions.
  • Performs preventive maintenance on schedule to improve equipment reliability, strengthen machine performance, and maximize uptime.
  • Keeps equipment and tools in proper working condition to help prevent production interruptions and unnecessary downtime.
  • Analyzes downtime, identifies recurring mechanical or technical issues, and implements corrective actions to prevent repeat disruptions.
  • Helps maintain availability of critical replacement parts for key manufacturing equipment to minimize avoidable downtime.
  • Maintains accurate maintenance records, including equipment issues, repairs, preventive maintenance, and corrective actions.
  • Coordinates equipment repairs with outside contractors and assists in evaluating cost-effective repair and upgrade options.
  • Supports continuous improvement projects that enhance safety, quality, equipment reliability, and operational performance.
  • Promotes a safe and secure work environment by following all applicable safety standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Helps strengthen the ZF culture by contributing to a positive, collaborative, and productive workplace.
  • Completes special projects and performs other assigned duties in support of business objectives.

Your Profile as a Maintenance Technician

  • Two or more years of experience in an industrial maintenance technician role.
  • Understanding of production-line operations and workflows, including how maintenance affects safety, uptime, quality, and output.
  • Strong electrical skills.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and technical knowledge of mechanical, pneumatic, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
  • Knowledge of communication protocols and escalation procedures that support timely, accurate information flow during service events.
  • Ability to stay customer-focused and respond to production-line needs with professionalism and accountability.
  • Strong organizational, task-management, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
  • Relevant coursework in a maintenance-related field; electrical certification or industrial electronics education preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of common manufacturing and operations concepts, practices, and procedures.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • English-language proficiency.

 

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Familiarity with applicable Occupational Safety and Health Act requirements and regulations.
  • At least two years of maintenance experience in the automotive industry.
  • Experience programming Allen-Bradley PLCs.
  • Experience with Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) systems.
  • Experience with honing and machining processes.
