Position Description
The Maintenance Lead plays a critical role in ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of all production machining and equipment. This position provides hands‑on technical expertise while coordinating daily maintenance activities and directing the work of maintenance technicians. A key responsibility of the Maintenance Lead is to help drive Overall Equipment Maintenance (OEE) improvements, especially through improvements in equipment uptime. Successful candidates must demonstrate leadership and be committed to a culture of safety, quality, and operational excellence.
Responsibilities
- Helps drive Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) improvements by escalating issues through proper channels to ensure timely resolution and continuous enhancement of production efficiency.
- Directs daily work and provides support and training to maintenance technicians.
- Troubleshoots Mechanical, Pneumatic, Electrical (PLC experience preferred) and Hydraulic Systems to repair machine equipment during unexpected and expected downtime events
- Ensure all equipment and tools are maintained properly to avoid interruption of production and to minimize unnecessary downtime
- Proactively analyzes machine downtime to identify and correct electrical and mechanical problems before they occur
- Ensure availability of replacement parts for key manufacturing equipment to minimize unnecessary machine downtime
- Creating work orders and analyzing work order history to determine and address root cause issues
- Coordinate with outside contractors on equipment repairs and improvements.
- Provide input and ensure completion of continuous improvement projects
- Creates and maintains a safe and secure work environment.
Your Profile as a Maintenance Lead
- 3+ Years experience in an Industrial Maintenance Technician role.
- Demonstrated leadership experience.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and technical knowledge of Mechanical, Pneumatic, Electrical and Hydraulic Systems
- Experience with PLC programming, maintenance (Allen Bradley)
- Experience with total productive maintenance systems (TPM)
- Strong time management, sense of urgency, and organizational skills
- Strong accountability and ownership of the maintenance practices and supporting equipment availability KPI’s
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and CMMS software
- Flexible and able to adjust quickly to changing demands and requests.
- Accepts new tasks as an opportunity for growth, embraces production challenges, and supports business needs.
Preferred
- Electrical certification or industrial electronics education
- CNC machine repair experience
- Experience in automotive manufacturing industry
