ZF CV Systems North America LLC has a job opening for the position of Senior Application Engineer based out of its location in Auburn Hills, MI.

Job Duties:  Collect technical customer requirements, specifications and associated documents; Compare customer requirements and specifications with ZF specifications, identify mapping specifications and deviations; Provide proposals for ZF product matching customer requirements, resolve deviations in consultation with product group engineer and customer, accomplish acceptance of deviations; Consolidate/prepare product documentation; Configure product according to customer needs; Check component installation and system environment in the vehicle; Adapt parameter setting and calibration where required; Homologate or support customer to homologate according to national and international regulations as appropriate; Carry out tests on special customer demands; Provide test report; Train and instruct customer on product features, end-of-line process and requirements; Provide technical release of application; Provide training and mentor junior level team members as well as new engineers. A hybrid (in-office and telecommute) work schedule is available. Up to 30% travel required, travel to customer sites, travel to manufacturing plants and customer plants, travel to testing facilities. 

Requirements:  Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or closely related field, plus 7 years as an Application Engineer, Product Engineer or any occupation in which the required experience was gained, and demonstrated experience with: Commercial vehicle advanced braking systems, including ABS, ATC and stability control systems; Customer service experience in troubleshooting DTCs (Diagnostic Trouble Codes), vehicle wiring issues, developing new products, and providing technical support; Commercial vehicle testing of advanced braking systems including antilock brakes, traction control and stability control functions; Vehicle braking diagnostic systems (e.g. J1939, CAN systems, or similar); CANalyzer and CANape Vector tools; Commercial Vehicle Control Systems, Advanced Braking Systems, antilock brake systems, traction control, stability control systems, or experience with Advanced Driver Assistance Systems; and Vehicle instrumentation including pneumatic pressure transducers and vehicle CAN databus.
