ZF CV Systems North America LLC has job openings (multiple) for the position of Project Quality Planning Engineer based out of its location in Auburn Hills, MI.
Job Duties: Provide Independent assessment of the project Quality status and create. Ensure quality across all aspects (e.g., products, services, activities) with a focus to ensure customer and internal requirements are met. Perform the following additional duties: Provide Independent assessment of the project Quality status and create transparency. Execute all activities related to the project quality function and lead the Quality project team to achieve Safe Launch. Apply Quality Assurance in all project routines and ensures compliance to GDPEP across all project phases. Lead Total Quality Management approach in all activities of the Project Team with adherence to Advanced Project Quality Planning (APQP). Provide functional excellence for problem resolution/ Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for non-conformities and critical issues impacting the customer or putting project at risk. Execute reality checks on fulfillment of customer requirements and perform quality communication with the customer. Track systematic problem-solving approach is applied in projects, drive it to closure and implement Lessons Learned. A hybrid (in-office and telecommute) work schedule is available. Up to 10% domestic and international travel to customer and company sites for project quality planning.
Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, or closely related field, plus 2 years of experience in quality assurance in the automotive industry and demonstrated experience with: Standards IATF 16949 and VDA 6.3; Quality core tools including APQP, FMEA (Design, Process & System), MSA, SPC, PPAP, and Control Plans for automotive development projects; Quality methods and problem-solving techniques including 8D, 5 Why, and Ishikawa; Six Sigma Training; Creation and implementation of Safe Launch plan; Statistical analysis tools, including MATLAB or Minitab; Kaizen and lean manufacturing; Internal Auditor Training; and Automotive Audits (process, products, or layered).
