About the Team

The Business Development Specialist position will sit in Auburn Hills, supporting the commercial vehicle division. The position will be responsible for driving business development and sales efforts in North America for transmission and eDrive products.

What you can look forward to as Business Development Specialist:

 

  • Regional responsibility to support the NA truck and heavy-duty pickup truck OEM business development activities for all transmission and eDrive products and services
  • Conduct market analysis (North America market map) to guide business development activities 
  • Conduct product competitive analysis identifying and evaluating competitive product characteristics  
  • Monitor, research, and predict customer needs
  • Identify new business opportunities and implement new strategies consistent with business unit short- & long-term goals
  • Support North America sales and marketing strategies 
  • Support sales organization by providing sales data, market trends, account analyses, new product information
  • Initiate and support existing end customer / fleet activities to promote market pressure accelerating product releases and sales
  • Coordination, preparation and execution of customer meetings and events 
  • Maintain existing and establish new successful relationships with customers and key decision-makers seeking out additional businesses

 

Your profile as Business Development Specialist:

 

  • Bachelor's Degree required in Engineering or Business discipline
  • 7+ years of related experience in the commercial vehicle and heavy-duty pickup truck market or automotive industries
  • Excellent presentation, organizational, and communication skills - public speaking assurance/confidence 
  • Experience in discrete customer account management and interdisciplinary project management
  • North America OEM and end-customer sales experience 
  • Professional experience in drivetrain technology products and sales know-how (conventional transmission and eMobility)
  • Ability to frequent domestic travel (approximately 50% travel) required
