About the Team: A new aftermarket engineering team is being created to support the North America Category Management team based in the USA and Mexico. This new aftermarket product engineering position will support the new aftermarket product releases for North America for the Commercial Vehicle (CV) business line.
What you can look forward to as an Aftermarket Product Engineer:
- Work with category managers on products and part numbers that will need to be added to the aftermarket CV business line to support aftermarket growth.
- Will be responsible to release information in the ZF PLM system (WABCO) and/or ZF Aftermarket PIMS system and work with part number cross references between original equipment (OE) and other aftermarket suppliers.
- Create new aftermarket product specifications to meet the aftermarket channel specific needs with information from inhouse engineering experts as well as aftermarket product and category management.
- Work with inhouse or external suppliers to perform validation testing requirements and to get appropriate documentation and sample products to evaluate. This includes reviewing documentation (inhouse and third-party suppliers).
- Compare OE samples to third party samples, measuring parts to OE samples and supplier drawings.
- Some travel to new third party suppliers to support finding suppliers to grow our aftermarket product portfolio.
- Evaluate supplier’s product engineering development, reverse engineering, testing and validating products.
- Ability to travel up to 10%
Your Profile as an Aftermarket Product Engineer:
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
- 5+ years of product engineering experience in an automotive or similar industry.
- Commercial vehicle knowledge and component development
- Experience with understanding product drawings, dimensions, and tolerances
- Experience working with cross-functional teams and suppliers
- Microsoft Office Skills
- Experience with PLM engineering management tool and Creo software preferred
