About the Team
The Account Manager I-NE & Atlantic Canada will work remotely in Rhode Island. The role would be the primary contact for pleasure and commercial craft customers spanning from Virginia to Canada. 


What can you look forward to as an Account Manager 

  • Travel to customers, OEM’s, engine distributors, ship builders, naval architects, fleet operators, and end-users to sell ZF Marine products and provide technical assistance.
  • Manage customer accounts ranging from $0-5M effectively through diligent customer relations and application of ZF Marine terms and conditions.
  • CRM maintenance to ensure excellent customer support.
  • Work closely with distributors and visit them and their local trade shows to support them as needed.
  • Assist in daily phone inquiries on availability, pricing, application/technical data and policy requests for units, parts, accessories, and field service per ZF Marine policies.
  • Prepare quotations, visit reports, sales reports and statistical analysis as required.
  • Provide timely input and review in the Global Forecasting module of Navision.
  • Work with sales staff to ensure data is accurate and complete.
  • Assist in the management of the in-house inventory of units, parts, and accessories to ensure that both customer needs and ZF Marine fiscal goals are met.
  • Maintain an accurate customer and competitive database while enriching personal understanding of ZF Marine products and its proper application.
  • Maintain required customer, quotation, application, and competitive files.
  • Maintain excellent customer and employee relations, integrating ZF Marine into the business and social fabric of the local business economy.
  • Attend sea trials as needed.
  • Ensure comprehensive project documentation reports and data management systems are maintained.
  • Assist in training both in-house and at the customer’s facility as required.
  • Attend trade shows, symposiums, seminars, and expositions as required.
  • Promote and engage in the principles of employee involvement, team building and continuous improvement.
  • Foster a positive attitude towards company goals and actively motivate, coach and support peers and support staff while striving for professional development to ensure growth and improvement.


Your Profile as an Account Manager

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or Engineering with six years progressive account management experience in the marine industry; or Associate degree in Business or Engineering with eight years progressive account management experience in the marine industry; or 10 years of practical marine industry experience.
  • Excellent customer service skills and previous sales experience required.
  • Excellent negotiation skills required. Must possess strong organizational skills, communication skills, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Must possess a strong work ethic, be capable of multi-tasking, and be an innovative self-starter who can work well under pressure.
  • Must be versatile with Windows Office software database software.
  • 25% or more domestic and international travel as needed.
